I saw this quote today while browsing the internet looking
for inspiration. It certainly hit home. I have fought the battle of the fat monster for years. It's sometimes
like 3 steps forward, 2 steps back.
I won the big battle of the bulge six years ago and for the
first time in my life hit my goal weight. Since then I have fought small battles, sometimes winning sometimes losing.
One might wonder how someone who spent a solid year losing 125 pounds could ever let 30 pounds back on..well my answer
is quite simple..I lost focus. At least I found it again without putting all the weight back on. You always,
always got to keep your eye on the enemy!
I never ever want to return to where I once was...obese and
unhealthy. So 2008 is a new year and once again I am focused and determined to get to goal and maintain it.
It does take determination and willingness to stay on top
of it. Never ever forget that fat monster is just around the corner waiting to attack when your guard is down.
I am once again exercising on a regular basis, preparing my
food ahead of time and keeping an emergency meal(non perishable of course)in my car.
My biggest issue is getting all my water in, so now I have
even found a routine that works for me. I drink 20 ounces of water in the morning before going off to the gym.
At the gym I drink 40 ounces.( I am there about an hour and a half) So this way by lunchtime I already have 60 ounces of water
in. I drink 20 ounces with both my lunch and dinner...and there you have it 100 ounces in...
So when fighting the battle of the fat monster make sure you
have a strategy in place and go for it!
