I've missed more than 9,000 shots.  I've lost almost 300 games.  I've
failed over and over again in my life.  And that is why I succeed.

Decided it is a new year and time for a new journal.  It has been a very long time since I journaled.  I started this website in January of 2002 having lost 57 pounds and had over 100 pounds to lose.  I decided to chronicle my journey.  I ended up losing 125 pounds through diet and exercise .  It is now  seven years since I started this way of life, and six years since I started the journal.

So here is the "catch up"  I am no longer 45(smile) but 51 years old.. I am happily married for 31 years to my best friend Ed.

My childrens' lives have changed immensely in the last six years.

John graduated from College, did post graduate studies at McGill University, moved to Vermont, got engaged, then got married in June of 2006, to Becky who I treasure like my own.  They decided to move back to New Hampshire this past fall and the biggest news of all..... they are expecting their first child in June of this year!!!!!!!!!  I am going to be a grandmother!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111

In the last six years, Kara graduated from high school, went off to Tulane University to study chemical engineering..managed to be in New Orleans during hurricane Katrina... the school shut down for a semester, she ended up doing a semester at RPI in New York and then went back to New Orleans.  She has been volunteering these past two years in New Orleans ..helping to rebuild the city.  She will graduate in May and is awaiting to hear from Law Schools!

Wow alot does happen in six years especially when viewing it from my children's progress.

As for me... I have managed to keep off most of the weight, but due to a variety of issues...I have managed to put back on thirty pounds and now is the time to get healthy and fit once again,,,after all did I mention... I AM GOING TO BE A GRANDMOTHER!!!!!!

I started back on program at 100 percent last Wednesday, lost five pounds this week, got my butt back into a regular gym routine and am feeling empowered...so join me as I get back on track and once again make my goal.

As for the quote..it is all about perseverance, no???
