Contact Me

The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather in a lack of will.

- Vince Lombardi

That quote also goes along with the saying where there is a will there is a way. Having been doing this lifestyle for a year an a half, recently I found myself getting complacent.  I was going through the motions, but the spirit was dwindling.  I knew I needed to renew my drive.  So I thought about what I could do to get myself all geared up.. I took a long hard look at my day and realized  that things needed to change some to get myself back on track both mentally and physically. Even though I had lost three pounds since I came back from Belize, It had lost the feeling of exuberance regarding my lifestyle.  I liken it to when one first falls in love... you are so involved.. so exhilerated... so enthusiastic and as time goes on your love although still wonderful, becomes quiet ...one becomes satisfied with the way things are...sometimes forgetting to strive for more.
I looked at my eating plan and having tweaked it some for lean living felt I should go back to being on program 100 percent until Easter weekend.(which also begins my April vacation and I just happen to be going to Florida with my hubby for the week).
I then looked at my exercising routine...  I usually go to the gym 6-7 times a week but since I had been back from Belize seemed only to be going 4-5 times a week..(a small change, but nonetheless a change in the wrong direction). I felt myself getting bored with my exercise routine...  I decided to do some pyramid training.  That is lifting heavier weights with each set but decreasing the number of reps.. For example instead of lifting 10 pounds for three sets of ten reps.  I lift 7.5 pounds for a set of 12 reps, then 10 pounds for a set of ten reps, then 12.5 pounds for a set of 8 reps. Then the next time I do this routine( a few days later) I would  increase to 10 pounds for 12 reps, 12.5 pounds for ten reps and 15 pounds for 8 reps. ..and so on and so on.  The theory behind this way of lifting builds more muscle and I would like to be a little more sculpted( trying this routine until Easter as well)
The last thing I looked at was my frame of mind ...I went to www.provida.com where the support community for the Michael Thurmond Six Week Makeover is  and looked for a forum of postive reinforcement.  I am a Body Makeover Specialist there and answer questiong to all who ask..but I needed to find people that were working hard and full of enthusiam.. I found just the right thread to join...it is called "Welcome to Our Parlor". The people are open, friendly and  ready to allow anyone at any level join in the commaradarie.
So now I have all the areas covered...eating ..exercising.... and support. and last but not least... I have the will to make this work..
Have a great, healthy day all!
