Contact Me

Gluttony is the source of all our infirmities, and the fountain of all our diseases. As a lamp is choked by a superabundance of oil, a fire extinguished by excess of fuel, so is the natural health of the body destroyed by intemperate diet.
              -- Burton.

I found this quote as I was browsing the web.  I went away to visit my son over the past long weekend.  I had reached goal on Wednesday and decided it would be fine to eat and drink in moderation...but that didn't happen.  Somewhere within the recesses of my mind I decided that I was at goal and could eat and drink anything I wanted...wrong!
I put on more than a couple of pounds,.had heartburn and felt so bloated. By Monday I was actually grateful that I was going home to get  back into the swing of things.. I went right back on program and feel so much better.. I still have four pounds to get off and know this will happen, but I did learn that I can never give myself permission to let my guard down completely. So much for my first week of maintenance!!! But I have learned from this.... excess food... however good it tastes  going in....really reaks havoc on my now healthy body.  Moderation is the key and it is back to the drawing board for me regarding  my maintenance plan...I can do this and I will...
