Contact Me

The unique combination of desire, planning, effort, & perseverance will always work its magic. The question is not whether the formula for success will work, but rather whether the person will work the formula. This is the unknown variable. That is the challenge that confronts us all. We can all go from whereever we are to whereever we want to be. No dream is impossible provided we first have the courage to believe in it.

Over this past weekend I went to a college fair with my daughter, Kara.  One of the sessions was a motivational speaker who basically stated what this quote says.
There are ways to become successful but people need to be willing to work for success.  There is no short cut, no quick fix for making our dreams come true.  When we start on a mission to improve ourselves, we want the results yesterday, we are a society that wants answers and solutions on a minutes notice.  Life just isn't that way.  But that doesn't mean dreams can't happen. I am living proof of that.  To be thin and healthy has been a life long dream...
I can remember my first"diet" I was in the 4th grade and the doctor prescribed dexedrine to help me lose weight.. I was "speeding " along losing, until one morning, not understanding the implications of the medication  at the age of 10, I thought if I took one and was losing...I bet three would really make me lose... that day my mom was called to the school( to peel me off the ceiling ..I was so hyper) and  she took me home.  Upon finding out what I had done..she took the medication bottle and emptied it crying into the toilet.. Yup, that was my first of many diets... but diets are temporary.. one has to go beyond temporary to permanent.  It took me years and years since that first diet to finally find a "plan" that would change my lifestyle and would work...
I do believe I have accomplished my dream, and am living it...but just as one must work hard to obtain one's dream..one must work at times even harder to keep the dream.
I did not weigh in this week, so there is no posted up or down on my maintenance page.  I have to let go of the scale... during the weight loss process it was my friend...it helped me get to where I wanted to go... Lately, while being on lean living, it has become my enemy..I find myself using it to eat more.... pounds drop, I eat...I gain...pounds drop, I eat...Igain..
So I have revamped the next four weeks.. I have come off of lean living and I am doing the weight loss aspect of the program 100 percent.  I have had a great  week on program, I am feeling renewed.. and I will continue in this direction and will post my results on Easter weekend..
May you all have the strength from within to continue in the direction of your dreams.....
