You cannot plow a field by turning it over in your mind.
 ~Author Unknown

Many people ask me how have you done it and how do you keep going in the right direction for such a long period of time.. I look at it as though this is the way in which I live my life.  Some days are rougher than others.  But becoming successful in the goal you achieve and maintaining that goal is not just thinking about it... It is taking the action and the willingness to work hard for what you want.  Turning things over in one's mind is simply not enough.
Last night I watched dateline and there was a man who had  gastric by pass surgery being interviewed, as it had been a year since he had it done.
I listened to what he had said and it was not that he lost the weight, but that he has kept it off.  As he continued to talk I realized that he had also changed his lifestyle.  Like me he is up at 4:30 every morning to go to the gym, his new found health and weight is his priority.
I find when I get complacent and do not have my health and fitness as my priority, I start heading in the wrong direction.  Luckily I have learned to  return to the sanity of my newlife style and continue forward.  At times I even amaze myself.
I have been doing great staying away from the scale.  I am exercising on a regular basis and right now working on increasing my muscle mass through pyramid training.
The most difficult area for me is staying on program during the weekend.  I start out with good intentions and somehow, lately have gotten sidetracked.  I have maintained, but still really want to lose ten more pounds before summer...or do I?  Why is it I just stay on strict program during the wee? I think that if I really search deep I am happy with my weight even though I would prefer to be a bit thinner.  My fear is that summer is coming and if I am not careful I will gain weight during it.
My plan is to do six weeks of "program" starting April 28 th.  The reason it will not be sooner, is that I am fortunate enough to be leaving for a week in Florida next Monday  My husband is going to a symposium for work and it just happens to be my April vacation... how convenient!!. While I am away I plan to increase my exercise, swim, jog on the beach..etc and eat in moderation.
Have a great day.. and don't forget Easter is fast approaching, how are you going to deal with it?
 Have a great one!
