On The road again
October 21, 2003

The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a person's determination.

Tommy Lasorda

It really is all about determination.  One must be determined to achieve what they wish to achieve.  When obstacles block the path, climb over them.
I have been  back on program now for a little over a month.  I have only lost a total of the two pounds of the fifteen that I had put on.  But I am determined to continue living as I have been living and have not become discouraged.  The old me would have given up and said it is not worth the effort.  But the new me knows that it is.
So how does one handle losing slowly or hitting a plateau without becoming discouraged?  I just decided that I would attack this as if it were the enemy.  I have and will continue to increase my exercise daily until this passes.  So for the last week I have been jogging in the morning for an hour and in the afternoon for an hour.  I am weight lifting 3 days aweek instead of 5 days, as right now I am keeping toned and not wanting to build more muscle mass.  I am drinking around 120 ounces of water and I know that this too shall pass.
For you see I don't care what it takes, or how long it takes ( this is certainly not a race) for I am determined to get back down to my goal weight.

Stay focused and always keep sight of your goal.
Have a great on plan day!

To dream the impossible dream,
to fight the unbeatable foe,
to bear with unbearable sorrow,
to run where the brave dare not go...

To right the unrightable wrong,
to love pure and chaste from afar,
to try when your arms are too weary
to reach the unreachable star!

This is my quest --
to follow that star
no matter how hopeless,
no matter how far --
To fight for the right
without question or pause,
to be willing to march into hell
for a heavenly cause!

And I know
if I'll only be true
to this glorious quest
that my heart
will be peaceful and calm
when I'm laid to my rest.

And the world will be better for this
that one man, scorned and covered with scars,
still strove with his last ounce of courage
To reach the unreachable stars!
