"Just hold on"
James Grey
Author of,"A Million little pieces"

Today I spent some time looking over my journal and it was interesting (at least to me) to see where my weight was as the holiday season approached.
Nov 2001
I had just started this way of life and had lost 31 pounds
Nov 2002
I had just reached goal and was maintaining
Nov 2003
I had put on a few pounds and was struggling with them
Nov 2004
I had put on  ten more pounds ( I had a knee and shoulder injury  that had kept me out of the gym for six months and had just got the ok by the doctor to go back)
Nov 2005
I am where I was in Nov 2003 still up a few pounds but thinner than last year.

So what does this all mean?  It means my weigh has fluctuated anywhere from goal up to twenty pounds. It also means that exercise is a HUGE component of maintaining ones weight.
Many times I have felt unsuccessful at living lean, that somehow I have failed myself.  I think I may be coming to terms with that.  I have to say that any other time I dieted and lost weight, within a year I had put it all back on and then some.
In the past four years I have gone up and down within a twenty pound range and have not gained back the 125 pounds.  I have changed my way of life, it way more than a diet. I have incorportated good healthy habits into my life.  I exercise on a regular basis(5-7 times a week).  I drink 100 ounces of water a day.  I eat six small meals a day and I don't use dairy, salt or fat.
Maintenance is far more difficult for me than losing the weight was.  I work at it all the time, some days are better than others.
I truly am thankful for finding this way of life and for being able to be fit and healthy these last 3 years and I know I will never be obese again.
So I will continue to plug away and  eat right, and exercise for I never  want to feel the pain and embarrassment of being obese again.
I need to just "hold on" to what I have.
Have a great one all!
